Richard Steiner in New York

Richard Steiner developed a love of photography in childhood and worked as a fashion photographer in New York before moving to Japan, where he discovered woodblock printing. It was the late 1960s, a time of great social change, and he spent his days in the highly competitive and exciting world of New York fashion. These photographs date from that formative period of his life and were created through his work with many up-and-coming models. The final two photographs are self-portraits.
